The Rescue Team of Budd Lake First Aid and Rescue is comprised of over a dozen members of the Squad with specialized training in Vehicle Exrtication and Rescue; we serve as the primary response unit for vehicle rescues in the Budd Lake response area.
The Rescue Team utilizes a custom designed Ford F-550 Rescue Truck with on-board and portable Hurst Rescue tools (Jaws of Life), the Power Hawk Extrication tool, Auto-Crib system, several portable power units, high and low pressure air bags, and a full scene lighting system, with a 14' high intensity light tower that extends from the top of the vehicle.
The Rescue Team also handles water rescue duty for Budd Lake and can be made available to other municipalites. The team operates a Coast Guard style rescue boat with dive hatch and out-board Mercury engine. Members are trained in various styles of water rescue and all operators are trained in boat operations by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Members of the Rescue Team are also qualified as Extrication Instructors and handle all the training of the team; they have also held classes for several other agencies.
The Squad is always on the lookout for used vehicles for use in training. If you have a vehicle that you would like to donate please email the Squad for information. Towing is available and all vehcile donations are tax deductable.
